Has anyone heard about high doses of Vitamin C infusion helping pancreatic cancer patients? We had a local news story about it. Any information would be helpful. _________________ Crystal

The doctor gave me a copy of The Riordan IVC Protocol, and I found the same article on their website.
The Riordan IVC Protocol - Intravenous Ascorbate (IVC) as a Chemotherapeutic and Biologic Response Modifier
{link deleted by admin. http://cancerforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=12696 }
From their studies, they concluded that tumor cells become susceptible to high-dose vitamin C at plasma levels of 350 to 400 mg/dL.
These are the vitamin C blood test results I got for IVC for breast cancer (the blood test is taken in the opposite arm to the IV):
Before IVC started - 3.4 mg/dL
25 g IVC for 80 minutes - 241 mg/dL
50 g IVC for 80 minutes - 388 mg/dL
Higher blood levels for a longer time can be achieved using 60g for 60 min, followed immediately with 20g for 60 min.
60 g IVC for 60 min - 531 mg/dL (at 1 hour)
20 g IVC for 60 min - 509 mg/dL (at 2 hours)
-------------------------- 255 mg/dL (at 3 hours, 1 hour after IV finished)
Recently we tried 150mg IV Lipoic Acid for 60 min, followed by 60g/20g protocol and we are waiting for the blood test results. There's in vitro data which shows a synergy between vitamin C and Lipoic acid, and also vitamin C and K3 (as Menadione Bisulfite up to about 60mg).
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) also seems to improve efficacy because it reduces hypoxia which so makes cytotoxic therapy (including chemotherapy and radiation) more effective. Currently I take 3000mg Niacinamide before the IVC, in addition to 1000mg Niacinamide 3 times a day with meals.
Hope it helps. If anyone else has had their own personal experiences with IVC for bc, please let me know!
All the best. |

Hi, I am sorry that you or a loved one is dealing with pancreatic cancer. Vitamin C IV is currently only approved as a viable treatment for breast cancer. Find a Naturopathic Oncologist, FABNO certified. Wish your family all the best. |
