Celebrate christmas - Share a Christmas Tradition from your family or a special Christmas memory.
I love Christmas. After living in Australia for many years to is still strange to go to the beach for a swim on Christmas Morning.
A few years ago I was working in Prague, Czech Republic. Some friends and I went to a tiny local restaurant on Christmas Eve for an "Orphans Chrismas meal". It was cold and dry when we went in but when we came out a few hours later the scene was covered with a frosting of snow. The air was filled with very big fluffy white snow flakes..... It felt like we were walking through one of those glass ornament balls you can shake up that has a Christmas scene inside... it was a special feeling that really made Christmas Eve feel like the ones you see on Christmas cards. I felt like a child again as I skipped up the street arms out trying to catch the magical flakes. A special joyful memory. A gift that can't be captured in wrapping paper. _________________ In Perth Western australia - Ex husband's diagnosis was January 2006, stage IV bowel cancer with mets to liver and lungs. Our tradition grew from accident. On Christmas Eve, Ben and I always stayed home; you see, we travelled to 3 different places on Christmas Day. One Christmas Eve, we had several friends drop in to visit. These friends have no family to spend holidays with, or family who wishes to be with them. Some are like the miss-fit toys in human form.... So, We have a gathering every Xmas Eve and invite all of these friends for the evening. We listen to the Blind Faith CD, and watch 'A Christmas Carol'. I drive them home- no oui's- and i usually work at the nursing home Xmas Day, making as merry for all the grammies and grampies that cannot be at home, as I can.
God Bless us, every One.
Merry Christmas,

Happy New year Everyone!
It has been 39 degrees today in Perth so the New year for many was spent like Christmas Day - at the beach. It is always strange to me to watch the people walking down to the beach with their bathers on, towels hung over their shoulders and wearing a red Santa hat
I pray 2009 brings each of you many blessings and inner strength beyond your imaginings. _________________ In Perth Western australia - Ex husband's diagnosis was January 2006, stage IV bowel cancer with mets to liver and lungs.
