Hi;

I just joined this forum and I have no idea how to go about communicating with anyone. -- I am a breast cancer victim who has already gone through twelve weeks of chemo and who had a double mastectomy on the 16th of December, 2008. I am still in a lot of pain and, because of side effects, can't endure any pain killer other than Advil.
The breast surgeon tells me that I should not be experiencing so much pain at this time and actually seems to be out of patience with me. My husband and I are trying to maintain a positive attitude but, in the face of a lot of discomfort, it isn't easy to keep a good attitude. -- I would appreciate a response -- although I have no idea how to find my way around this site.

Hi westrich1. I am very sorry about your breast cancer. You say that you cannot endure any pain killers? What happens if you take them? I encourage you to keep working with your own medical team to find one that works for you. You really should not be in so much pain this long after the surgery. I am sorry that this is not the case Sad.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

P.S. You will learn your way around the forum Wink but if you need help, ask. I did spit off your post to start a new subject. I hope you do not mind. I gave the subject name but you can change it if you like by editing your first post.

Hi LOLO. So sorry you are having so much pain. Can you describe the pain for us and tell us a little more about it. Is it a sharp pain? A dull pain? Is the pain at the incision or is it all over the whole breast? Do you have any redness or swelling. Any oozing at the suture line? Hope you feel better really soon.
