I loved Mr. Magoo's version of the Christmas Carol. It had sweet music too.

Wasn't a big fan of most of the Hanna-Barbara characters, but did watch the Flintstones. I still sing the "Happy Anniversary" song. Rolling Eyes

Loved Peabody and Sherman. Didn't Hans Conried do Fractured Flickers and weren't they shown as part of Rocky and Bullwinkle's show? I think that was was actually Fractured Fairy Tales. I liked both.

Laughing Fractured Fairy tales were certainly not for children, but i love them!
Ben and I still talk about how Rocky and Bullwinkle meant that that was the last cartoon of the day! Cool love it!
almost forgot- we have Mr. Magoos Xmas, and watch it every year!

I had the bendable Gumby and Pokey. Cheap toys - both had the wires pop thru their "skin" with little use. Picture a poor 4 year old kid, crying whilst her father is doing "surgery" on her toys. Hehe. Ah, memories. It probably took me a whole 2 minutes to get over it! LOL

For cartoon fans, there's an interesting site called The Big Cartoon Database.

You can sign up but I'm not sure if you can watch video clips of old cartoons, might be worth a browse. Smile

How many of you watch current cartoons? My husband and I were die-hard Simpson's fans until about 3-4 years ago when it jumped the shark. Also love Family Guy, which is definitely not a kids cartoon. The Simpson's reminds me of Rocky & Bullwinkle in that there is humor in it for kids and adult humor that flies over kid's heads.

Oh my God, yes, I love the "adult" cartoons (I can watch them; right? I'm 22...). If you like Family Guy you'd probably like American Dad (a show that I find much funnier, actually).

Another cartoon that is REALLY not a kids cartoon is Frisky Dingo. I swear to God, I've never laughed so hard in my life... the first season is kind of dull at spots, but the second season is amazing! Very Happy

I just read thru this. I don't think I saw Little LuLu listed. Watched her when I was young.

I liked the Roadrunner and still do. Never see him anymore. Wylie Coyote and him. Beep, Beep. Very Happy

Are there any legal ramifications regarding a portrayal of a public figure in a cartoon? My friend and I were interested in entering a cartoon contest and he was going to draw the likeness of Barack Obama into our cartoon (we're thinking of making it a bipartisan cartoon, we'll poke fun at conservatives too). The contest rules clearly state that there are to be no uses of copyrighted images or figures, but I believe that a public figure does not fall under that category. Can anyone clear this up for us or give us more details?

Tom and Jerry was the first US cartoon I saw, it really gave me a lot of good memory, I guess it's the 1st USA cartoon in china as well. after that, I was crazy about japanese cartoon, like dragon ball Z , slum dunk, then my study was getting busy, years later, I got a job, I start to watch some cartoon again, but can't find tom n jerry anymore, instead by South Park Shocked style changed.... Laughing
