is this the same as glioblastoma multiforme? Any ideas on prognosis with no treatment or any stories of what to expect. Found out late december since that time he has been in a hospice receiving palliative care. Initially we were told months to a year, then 4-6 weeks and now the medical staff will not comment as they themselves just don't know.

Thanks Crying or Very sad

Keri, I am so sorry about your father's diagnosis. Yes, that is the same thing as a GBMIV. His prognosis greatly depends on his over all health, treatments, age... My mother who was 83 opted for no treatments. She was also very weak already. She only lived 2 months after her diagnosis. It is very rare for anyone to survive more than 18 months, with or without treatment.

You might want to check out the Brain Hospice website for a "time line": http://www.brainhospice.com/

You and your father are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi,
My dad was diagnosed with GBMIV and lasted 4 months. He was 58 yrs old. He seemed to get alot worse after he had the Radiotherapy. I hope your father isn't in to much pain, and what ever you do make sure you say everything you have ever been meaning to say to him now. This disease stops at nothing.
