Marlene died a 7:07 pm on March 5th 2009 from endometrial cancer. She was 69 years old. She fought a five year battle. Much of it she was well and confident the surgery had succeeded in ridding her of cancer. The 2 1/2 year battle with its return was a different story but there were still many laughs and great moments. She is survived by a faithful husband of 52 years, 3 children, and 7 grandchildren, as well as 4 younger siblings.

It is tough to lose a big sister.

We will miss her enthusiasm at organizing family gatherings and her great reports on our family website. Most of all we will miss just knowing she is there for some good level-headed conversation and companionship.

Until we meet again Marlene,

We love you big sister!

Hey Hawk,

So sorry to hear about your big sister. Cancer is a terrible disease. Me and my wife both lost our grandmothers to cancer, it is tough to see your loved ones go through that.

I hope we can bring some comfort to you from the scriptures, ones that we found to be comforting. God promises than soon in John 5:28,29 "all those in the memorial tombs will come out' just seeing our dead loved ones again is a wonderful hope. Another scripture Revelation 21: 3, 4 ' and death will be no more.' We hope these scriptures bring you some comfort once again truly sorry to hear about your loss.
