With the economy as bad as it is today, not only am I dealing with the fact that my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer (stage 4 melanoma), but I work in the aviation industry and am now facing a layoff. The question I have is, once I attain new employment, will any insurance companies cover my wife for medical or life insurance.

Would your wife qualify for Medicare if you're in the USA??

Just a thought, not sure about a company policy taking on 'pre-existing conditions' of a spouse. In a large company, they might...I'm just not sure.

It is my understanding that as long as there is not lapse in coverage there should be no pre-existing condition exclusion. Where are you? In the US after layoff you can get COBRA immediately.
