Hi All,

It's a sad day for me today as I found out yesterday about the death of a young friend, also from brain cancer. His cancer was different from mine - it had metastacized from a rare form of bone cancer that eventually travelled to his brain. He was a wonderful person - at 25 years of age he had become a fabulous musician and before the cancer returned, had nearly completed his degree in aeronautical engineering.

I, myself, continue to coast along with relatively few problems at least for the moment. I'm due for my next MRI in June sometime. It's been over a year now since my surgery for GBM IV and I am still feeling well, other than a problem with concentration and word-finding. This makes it impossible to work - I am, however, helping my husband through tax season, doing all the menial work that doesn't take any thought!

I read your posts every day - happy and sad - we do need each other!

Hugs,
Gayle

Hi Gayle, I am very sorry about the death of your friend. It sounds like his cancer was not a primary brain cancer, but cancer nevertheless. 25 is much too young to die of any cancer Sad.

I am glad to hear that you are doing so well!!! I hope and pray that you continue to improve Smile. You are so right when you say that we need each other. Glad to see you here.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Jim. Yes my friend's cancer was not a primary one - so sad for his family though. He was such a promising young man and so full of plans and dreams. Such is life - my daughter tells me "Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end". So true!

Hugs,
Gayle
