Hello Everyone,
My mom finished her 6 weeks of radiation/chemo last Wednesday. We have been told to watch for rapid personality changes, additional swelling, neurological changes etc. My question is how do you tell the difference between signs of re-growth, symptoms of swelling or just side effects of radiation/chemo? My mom's attitude has changed a lot in the last three days. Part of me thinks it is because now she has so much time on her hands and is alone so much more. But then of course I worry it is a sign of regrowth or swelling. When do you call? Who do you call? The radiation oncologist, the oncologist or the neurosurgeon. Could this be late effects of radiation? Any help is very appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Tonya. I am sorry about your mother's condition. In a sense, it really does not matter what causes the changes. If the change is significantly, your mother should see a doctor to determine the cause and possible treatment options. I would always rather ere on the side of being over sensitive than under sensitive to changes.
