Hi all...my first post.
I'd like to saw that I have gotten a lot of useful info from this site. Many of you are kind compassionate people and are a big help to each other and myself.

My mom had a Whipple in Sept/08, tumor was removed at just over 2 cms and 2 of 17 nodes were positive. She had previous jaundice like symptoms prior. She began Chemo in Nov. which she tolerated aside from a couple of fevers which she was hospitalized for the latest being 3 weeks ago. She has developed a new tumor 2.5 x 3cm just below the liver which has metastisized from the pancreactic cancer and another smaller growth in her abdomen. She has fevers that aren't explained still as of a few days ago, she just got home after antibiotics. She has constant light too stabbing pain upon eating that is realitvely new.

My father died of Colon cancer after a 2.5 year struggle in Jun '07. Was just looking for some opinions/advice from people that have had the same experience as Pancreatic cancer is very different from what I expereinced with my dad as it seems

Thanks
Good luck to all with their fights

Hi notrab,

My Mom has stage IV pancreatic cancer. What I am noticing is what a rapid and aggressive cancer that this is. I think it helps to have a very responsive physician as it seems symptoms keep popping up very suddenly. There are alot of issues with eating, nausea, vomiting. She just had biliary stents put in and that helped the pain in her liver. So with your Mom my advice would be to always demand an immediate CT scan to see where the tumor progressed so that any palliative means can be utilized. My Mom is going to need a duodenum stent at some point but she is too weak for that right now.

Good luck and I will be sending well wishes and prayers your way.
