What I would like to know is there hope for this stage 4 spread to liver after biopsy, and lymph nodes. He has been put on Xeloda & radiation to help shrink the tumor, 5 days a week to help with the pain. Is there anything else we could do to help this? The person is my husband. his pain comes & goes. We go to the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington ,ky

Did you look into the cyberknife? Also herbs and supplements, vit C can be added to the diet. Most drs do not think much of these things, but with pancreatic cancer everything should be tried. I would also look into current trials. Pancreatic vaccine therapy sounds promising.

I'll respond to your other recent post first - regarding the treatment formula they are using. It's very hard to comment or to know as each Oncologist has their own interpretation of how to fight the symptoms & cancer based on tests.
Xeloda is very strong chemo & 2000mg is a big dose.............work hard to minimize side effects that hopefully will be mild. Don't be shy about asking very pointed & blunt questions of the Oncologist to get answers.

Also use the internet to arm yourself

I agree with e20, definitely go with a regimen of healthy foods & supplements - this is a time for action & positive thoughts.
Then do something FUN everyday with your husband......does not have to be big............anything to get away from cancer, treatments, doctors, etc - you both need & deserve it.
