please help.. is this melanoma?

Im a 24 year old single mother. I have been getting dark brown spots on me the past few months that go away after a few days.. Then, a couple of days ago, this thing appeared on my arm.. Its grown to almost an inch.. like its eating a whole in my arm. it started off yellow, then orange, now its black, orange and yellow, with a flaky layer of skin thats about to fall off. it looks like its grown since this morning.. please help... if this pic doesnt work.. go <a><img></a>

The same advice to you as to others asking this kind of question. It is not valid to try and diagnose from a photograph on the internet, and if you have ANY doubt about your health, go and see a doctor, particularly one who specialises in skin disorders.

YEs, thank you.. ive heard that one too.. no insurance. going to submit myself to a free clinic friday.. but this thing is rapidly growing.. thats what forums are for. to give advice other than go see a doctor.. i also noticed (after i posted this) that an old burn scar from a month ago puffed up and turned white, with a black oval thing growing in it. can also see a pic of that in the same album.. Please, any other thoughts on it, besides see a doc. tell me something i dont know

Angelica, first of all I can't even see the album, despite trying.

Secondly please think about the other people here who are, believe it or not, trying to help you - before you start being rude.

What if we all had a look and said, 'Hey that looks fine to us' and then a week later you keel over, wouldn't you be a bit angry that we got it wrong? When in fact we're not qualified in the first place?

And if we said 'that looks suspicious' you would then go pay for healthcare and be angry with us if it was nothing bad.

Do you see where I am going with this? Get it checked on Friday, good luck and let us know once you have a diagnosis.

This topic is somewhat old..... But that looks (and sounds) like a brown recluse spider bite (or something of the sort) - They can spread as readily as any malignancy depending on the level of envenomation. And they are also a life threatning medical emergency. So I hope you made it to the doc and got it diagnosed.
