Her son David wrote to me to let me know she passed on the 17th at 6:15 am. I was touched by her story and apparently she was equally touched by my own. I know it feels bad now but as time goes on, it gets better. What a brave, courageous and plucky woman she was! I really admired her strength and courage through her own battle as I am sure many of you felt the same way too. Rest in peace my dear....

47 YOA female. NSCLC IV Squamous cell. dx 7/07. Radiation, chemo (carboplatin/Taxotere). Cancer free 3/08! Cancer mets to liver 12/08. Started Tarceva 1/26/09-4/10/09, liver tumor tripled in size. Started Alimta. Down to 84 pounds! Stopped Alimta and started Gemzar on 5/2. Stopped chemo went into HospiceJuly 24 2009, with prognosis of 3, maybe 4 months left.

Thank you for letting us know this HulaMom.

My heart breaks for her family, but I know she was a courageous woman who did things HER way. Quite obviously she will be missed by many who were touched by her as she had a sparkling personality.

My deepest condolences to her family and friends. May God hold them close as he is surely holding her in his loving arms now.

<sigh> I hate cancer.
