I lost my father tonight to this horrible, horrible disease. diagnosed on May 30,2009 and passed on july 23 , 2009. I have been on this site and learned alot. My father was very tough and up until the end he wanted to fight. His whole family was with him at the end and I got to hold his hand and and watch his last breath. I don't want to discuss the past 8 weeks on what and how. I just want to say anybody who is going through this or has, my prayers and thoughts are with you. We were very lucky that until 24 hours before the begining of his new life my father had very little pain, hardly used any pain meds. And even within the last 24 hours still would not want any but we gave cause we saw the pain in his eyes and worried he was trying to be strong. hospice was incredible. He went to hospice center of Northern Illinois at about 2:00 pm today and with the last 6 hours of his wonderful life hospice treated him and us like we were family. GOD BLESS
