A report of research done at M.D. Anderson in Houston, TX shows that mutations in five genes my be factors in raising the risk of an individual developing a glioma. This was an international study with a large population meaning that the results are highly significant. The five genes are: CCDC26, TERT, CDKN2A, RTEL1, and PHLDB1. Whether or not screening for these genes is economically feasible or recommended unfortunately are not part of this report.
