Hi all,
I'm so glad I found this site; my Doc's assistant told me about you!
I got "The Call" 2 days ago. Went for 1 ugly mole on ankle and a wierd brown patch on abdomen. Came back + melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma. I'm pretty freaked out, but apparently caught the melanoma very early (insitu). I guess I am most concerned that I have 2 different types of skin cancer at the same time! I haven't had an appointment to discuss anything yet, but my GP says it's pretty wierd that someone would have 2 kinds...? Please can anyone shed any light on whether having one type makes one more succeptable to another??? My next appt w/Dermatologist is in 2 weeks to excise, but I feel I haven't enough face time to just let him go in and start cutting. I am so scared that they won't catch another one lurking on my body or that it has spread, etc. My mind is reeling and I can't yet wrap around the idea that I have the big C. Your stories are inspirational and I thank all of you for having the courage to post and share.
