Hello, my name is Carlo, I'm from Italy. Sorry for my bad English.
I found this forum while I was searching for any possible solution
(solution?) for pancreatic cancer.
Two months ago my father was diagnosticated a five cm long pancreatic
cancer, located into the head of the pancreas. No therapy
seemed possibile, doctors said, except for palliative chemio...
No hope.
Searching the net we found two possible ways, not miraculous,
just able to increas the last life months...
The first is Hyperthermia: microwaves increase the temperature of
the lesion, so that radiotherapy can stop it... For at least
one and a half year. But it seems there is someone still alive
after three years....
The second is Cyber-Knife, a new system able to destroy the tumor
via radiotherapy in just three times...
We are going to start the first one, Hyperthermia, because the
radio level used by CyberKnife seems very high, while my father is
very weak and also because we have problems moving him (the
hospital is very distant).
Have you ever heard about this techniques? Can you help me?
Is there anything else I have not found?
Thank you very much!!!!!!
Carlo. |

Hi Carlo:
So sorry about your Dad. It seems that you are right on track with your
options. Has any chemo been offered or is your Dad too weak?
Carlo also go to John Hopkins PC discussion board, google it just like that it will come up.
By the way your English is excelent. Chow, I hope thats how its spelt?
with best intentions,

Hello Denise,
Thank you so much for your reply.
Yes, chemo has initially not been offered due to the
weakness... Anyway chemo would not be a solution,
said doctors, as it can increase life for some
months, while creating a lot of pain...
They said there is not a solution...
Searching, solutions do not exist... But possibilities
do exist!!! We are waiting to start Hyperthermia,
hoping next week...
The Doctor at Verona hospital said they used this
cure on 50 people and that after three years 20%
of them was still alive. Ok, just one on five... But
at least we can hope...
Now looking for John Hopkins forum.
Thank you very much.
Ciao da Carlo.
p.s.: yes, we spell "ciao" as "chow"
