Hi All

First thank you for being here. I had several lesions removed and have been kicking myself in the butt for not doing it sooner. For not really
noticing, I saw it but not really, if that makes sense??

Anyway since then I have reasearched it and hoping the one on my leg
well of course is nothing but, I think it looks just like the KA which is
keratoacanthoma, looks alot like scc, but actually loks like a hard
boil, with a volcano like center. Mine was red like a bite.

Anybdy ever heard of KA?? I think tx is the same as for scc except you
get a hard time from ins.
Thank you
Denise in NY

Hi Denise, I am so sorry about your health concerns. I know how hard it is to wait to find out what is wrong.

Yes, keratoacanthoma is a type of squamous cell cancer so the treatment is the same. However, you might be jumping the gun. Skin cancers are hard (impossible actually) to diagnose from a picture. I know it is a lot easier said than done, but try to relax until the pathology report comes back.

KA is rare but that doesn't mean you do not have it or some other form of skin cancer. I am glad you have already taken the first step... that is, gone to a doctor. I am also glad that you are taking the initiative to learn as much as possible. Nevertheless, it is possible that you are not learning what you need to learn Wink

Keep us informed.
