As a relatively new contributor to this forum, it is one of my jobs to make sure that the best interest of this site's members is looked out for. It has come to my attention that threads in the Prostate Forum are being flooded with posts about HIFU whether they are on topic or not. Also, upon reviewing some of the posts, I have found the debate and banter to be a bit abrasive and sometimes offensive. So, for this reason I have temporarily locked all topics related to HIFU, and will be keeping a closer eye on this forum. I am not going to single anyone out, but in the future I think the HIFU discusson should be limited to one thread and/or should be discussed more in the Complementary Therapies Forum.

Also, JustJB, I know you started a post a couple weeks ago that got off topic because of HIFU. Please feel free to copy your original message and repost it or let me know if you'd like me to do it for you so your original topic can be further addressed.

I apologize for any inconvenience, but I hope this will just be a temporary thing. This forum is for helping one another, and I know that is the intention of everyone involved, but abrasive debate, confrontation, and an uncomforabale atmosphere in a forum is not healthy for anyone. Let's all love one another.

Take care, everyone.

It's too bad that people get so hostile to anything new. I suppose its their way of coping with whatever decision they have made for treatment.

Gdudak,

Thanks for your help here and for your reasonable, polite, and completely non-hostile, approach to preserving the mission of this important form.

Regards,

Hawk

Thank you for taking control. It was becoming more and more frustrating and I am guilty of being one of those with little patience, which is such a waste of time.

September is recognized in most places in the US as being National Prostate Cancer Awareness month. We should all be celebrating our current status of being a survivor today, with a positive look towards the future. Good health to all.

It seems the hostility is towards HIFU, not the other way around. I wonder why? "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

I agree with the HIFU stand. While we want to know about new treatments, when one or two people with hidden agendas try to shove a specific treatment on the board, it needs action.

Well done!

The only hidden agenda that these one or 2 people have is compassion for their fellow man.
It's your body. Do the research. Don't listen to everything your surgeons and radiologists tell you. This alternative treatment has been used in other countries for 16 years. It's not new --- only new to America.

Hi guys, the point of locking that topic was not for us to continue this discussion here, it was for us to take a step back, calm down, and cool down. We are not wanting to punish, silence, or prevent anyone from getting help. So, please, let us all take a deep breath.
