but no stranger to cancer. My wonderful husband of almost 4 yrs. was diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma of the lung 8/09. It has spread to the lymph nodes and bone. He has had pallative radiation for his back pain and is currently undergoing chemo.

I moved away from my home of 45 yrs when we got married (2nd marriage for both of us). We have no family living in PA, so it is God, us and our 3 dogs. Thank goodness for long distance and the internet.

My dad passed away from lung cancer in 2000, after a 5 year battle. My mom died from brain cancer in 1994, 12 yrs after her intial diagnosis. Dad was diagnosed 3 months after mom died. We were blessed to have hospice and each other. I never imagined I would ever be in a similar situation but here I am.

I'm hoping to find support here as we live in a rural area and I do not work outside the home. I have lupus and epilepsy.

I've been up since 2 am and I hope this makes some sort of sense. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated too. Hopefully I'll catch on quick!

Thank you for your time.

God Bless,
Paulie

Hi Paulie,

Welcome to the place you never wanted to be. I'm am VERY sorry about this diagnosis for your husband. We have a very active lung cancer section farther down the forum where you will receive lots of help and support. We will hold your hand long distance as you and hubby begin this journey together.

I also lost both of my parents to cancer a long time ago and was dumbstruck that it hit my dear husband.

I'm sick that cancer has struck your life again, but I hope he shows a good response to the chemo. Have they also placed him on Zometa to prevent future bone mets? We had fantastic luck with chemo and Zometa for the two bone mets my husband developed. They went away and none ever reappeared. His cancer liked his lungs and mediastinum -- a lot.

Please drop down and post your info in the lung cancer section so everyone can get to know you.

Do NOT forget to take care of yourself. I'm sure this is a very difficult situation with the medical problems you have too.

Insomnia? Been there, still doing it. See if the doc can prescribe you some meds if this is an ongoing issue. I've found that melatonin (working up to 20 mgs.) has helped ease some of that for me.

Hugs and God bless,
PBJ
