with non invasive cervical cancer. i was also told i need to see a specialist. unfortunately i have yet to go. im worried it may have become worse. im actually scared to know. ive searched and searched to figure out if it could progress that fast, but i mean come on...everyone is different. i went from 3/27/09 at low grade squamous lesions to 7/15/09 to having non invasive cervical cancer. 4 months. not "7 to 10 yrs" so im nervous. any thoughts? thanks.

My thoughts are....get to a doctor NOW. I know how you feel but Seriously I waited because i was scared. I kept putting my appt's off and ended up with a stage 2A. Had to have a Rad Hysterectomy and radiation. It's not even those things that are the scariest. it's the side effects, both short term and long term from the treatment. At one point, my cancer was non-invasive, but I missed my chance to catch it and it progressed. Dont' let that happen to you too ok? Get it treated. You're probably only looking at a LEEP. Avoid the extreme treatments that you will face if you wait.

Anyone who's had pelvic radiation knows we side effects we face short term and long term. I'm 37 years old and in menopause now because of the radiation. I'm facing potential bowel problems, vaginal steinosis (it shrinks!!! I'm using dialators now), Possible tissue and bone necrosis and pelvic and hip fractures and Sacrum fractures. These can happen anytime after your radiation. why risk that? Plus, radiation can cause other cancers in the future. Chemo is even harder (thankfully I avoided that).

Please don't wait, avoid all of this if you can. Good luck Smile

Hi Kim,

I remember last time you posted that you were thinking about getting a cone biospy.

Now I know in the past you have weird issues with bleeding after procedures and you are under a ton of stress, but girl, you are just going to keep on worrying yourself if you do not go to that specialist. This is one thing you do not want to procrastinate on. My father always says that you can have all the money in the world, but is not worth anything if you don't have your health.

So I implore you to make the trek down to LA and go see that specialist. Last thing you want to do is let anything progress into something worse.
