I did get the results of my biopsy this afternoon. It turned out to be normal, thank God. The past week I could hardly wait to get the doctor on the phone, yet the whole time dreading the news he was about to give me.
He told me that there were no cancerous cells present on the biopsy, but it did show "cyclical" changes in my menstrual period. The lining of the endometrium was "off" from the time of where I should be in my menstrual cycle. He basically chalked it up to peri-menopausal symptoms, and said that it may or may not continue. When I asked him the connection between these findings and my abnormal pap from two months ago, he said that he didn't believe there was any correlation, but he does want me to return next month to repeat the pap smear again.
This has been the most frightening week of my life - I've actually lost three pounds, because I couldn't bring myself to eat or drink anything, I was so paralyzed with fear.
One of the main things that gave me comfort these past few days were the kind and caring words from all of you, and I thank God that He led me here to you. I will continue to monitor this forum and post, and you are all in my prayers. Please continue to give love and support to one another, as it helped me immensely. God bless each of you. And Rhonda & Pixie, thank you for reaching out to me. I hope you know how much that meant to me, and you will both be in my prayers. |

Oh Clare, this is the type of news we love here!!! I so glad, you have brighten my day!
Your doctor seems like a thoughtful and competent doctor.
Drop by anytime, and let us know how the next pap turns out. When you see the symptoms women have on this forum, you cannot help but note the overlap, and or, some of the same symptoms with very different outcomes. It is so important for thorough checking and testing.
Today we celebrate your outcome!!! Thank You Lord!! You take Clare now, and rest easy! Hope and pray you are doing well Pixie.

Dear Rhonda & Pixie...
I will certainly continue to visit this forum, as I have it bookmarked as a "favorite place" on my service. And I will be having my repeat pap in about a month, so I will let you know the outcome. I am still a bit concerned as to why my pap is turning out abnormal. Hopefully the next time it's done, the doctor will get a better reading on it.
And you will be in my prayers and my thoughts. I will continue to check in. I could never forget your gracious kindness towards me - a stranger - when I needed support the most. God bless, and talk to you soon! |
