Few years ago my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer and one of her breasts was removed.
She was able to get out of this, and ever since needs to go through routine check-ups, mammography, etc.
Her breast cancer was found to be genetic, meaning that each one of us girls in the family can potentially get it...
I know that my aunt was treated with naturalistic medicine, consumed specific type of veggies and fruits and avoided others, drank a lot of green tea, and didn't eat dairy at all for couple of years.
I too, am a big fan of naturalistic and homeopathic practices, and I wonder if anybody here had luck in getting an alternative treatment?
The Cancer Cure Foundation, brings few success stories from patients who recovered thanks to naturopathic practice, one of them is an M.D...Lorraine Day, who was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and had a lumpectomy of a small tumor.
She rejected standard therapies because of side effects, and chose instead to rebuild her immune system using natural, simple inexpensive therapies designed by God and available to everyone, so her body could heal itself. She is now cancer free.
I know that there is what considered to be "healthier food" and many food types are described as anti-cancer such as many greens, tomatos, ginger, green tea, etc.
What is the approach toward nutritional supplements? I know that there are too many over the counter, and there is an FDA warning about them, but based on patients' stories, I know that there are vitamins and nutritional supplement that were found effective and helpful.
Few days ago I also came across an article that discussed the link between chronic viruses (EBV, Herpes) in the human body and the risk of developing cancer.
this article also mentions a science based supplement (gene-eden?) that targets those those viruses and reduce their concentration level, based on positive reviews I read, I am considering that too.
Is there a final consensus about what types of nutrition are good in avoiding cancer? if so what are they?
Did somebody here has had a positive experience with naturalistic and alternative practice? or with natural supplements he/she took?
