My father was diagnosed with lung cancer (non small cell) in both lungs about 4 weeks ago , his first bout of chemotherapy is due to start this thursday , i understand he is to be given gemcarbo ?.
In addtion he is unedr the heart failure team who have been treating him for a fast weak heartbeat, to say i am beside myself is an understatement.
Although dad is 78 , he has always been a larger than life type of guy , who untill v recently has lead a full active life , latterly (last 12 months ) he has aged unbelieveably , since being diagnosed with NSC cancer he seems to have aged 10years plus.
I am a little unsure how he will react to chemotherapy, as the advice seems to be patchy.
If anyone has any experiences with relatives of similar age it would be greatly appreciated.
