So here's my story

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at 12, had a large goiter that came back benign. Things were fine and I was put on PTU.

Had a round of RAI last December following the birth of my child
I did not become hypothyroid instead I had a normal functioning thyroid, I haven’t been on the meds in a while.

On 10/05/09 I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer
On 10/27/09 I had it removed, it was a small cancerous tumor only .8cm. My endocrinologist gave me two options she said that since the cancerous tumor was less than one centimeter I was not required to have the RAI, she told me about complications involved with RAI which include a chance of leukemia, bladder cancer, and all around other cancers (funny how she didn’t mention any of them when I fist had the RAI) and told me it would be easier to monitor my cancer if I went ahead with RAI.
So what to do?
Has anyone here not gone through RAI after thyroid cancer? Can you share your experiences?

I’m leaning towards not having it done, I feel that the RAI is what caused me to get thyroid cancer to begin with. My tumor was once benign how did it suddenly become cancerous after 15 years?
