Hey guys... This is my second post. I have a question. I have been passing stools streaked with bright red bllod and had bright red blood on tp after a bout of constipation. Im 37 w no family history. My PCP did a CBC, digital rectal and hemocult. All negative. However, I made a self referral to a very good GI specilist locally. After a converation and phsyical examination, I was told that I needed a diet change, suppositories and come back in 3 weeks. The pain I have with my bowel movements is at the same location as the stools passes. There is no pain until the stool begans to exit. The pain is a tearing, burning pain that last for several minutes to an hours after the movement. The blood is much more pronounced on the TP than on the stools. There is also a perodic burning on the rectum throughout the day. My question is this. When I read of "painful bowel movements" with cancer, where is the pain located. I dont have any specific abdominal pain, although I have had gas, sporatic, qucik pains in back, lower and upper abdomen and on both sides. My stools are typically long and full but mucus covered. Im guess I'll demand a scope upon my next visit. The bloody stools and pain upon exit is a bit tiresome. Any ideas or suggestions. Thanks

HI SOSUA,

What you really need is a colonoscopy, this will answer your questions, and you need it soon as possible, DO NOT PUT IT OFF GET ON TO THEM STRAIGHT AWAY,, BE VERY PROACTIVE.. if it shows up nothing then follow what Drs are telling you, if it is colon cancer then hopefully caught it early... main thing be positive about out come and get that test done..
