Hi

This is my first time on this site and from reading through the various questions and answers, it seems a really excellent way of supporting people. I am 40, was diagnosed with DCIS in November 2005, had a lumpectomy and 4 weeks of radiatherapy. I wasn't told anything about how my breast could possibly change. I have noticed over the last 4 months that my breast affected by DCIS has shrunk quite a bit which has shocked me and it feels very lumpy tender. I can't say I have noticed it before and has started worrying me. Incidentally I went for my yearly mammogram yesterday and hopefully results will be okay, but I just wondered if anyone else has suffered similar symptoms. Thanks again Very Happy

Hi, Kate - I can't give you any advice since I never had the operation. I hope someone will come back to you soon.

Hi katinthemiddle,

I don't really know about the bad effect of DCIS. However, it is good to do the mammography annually. I'm so glad to hear that you will do it each year. This really help to reduce the risk of breast cancer. You really concern about your health!
