Hi,

Your dad really needs to see a dermatologist.

My sis recently had a lesion that would not heal. At first she thought it might be eczema or something related and attempted to treat it. It would not heal. Her doctor sent her to a dermatologist and he did a biopsy that came back positive for squamous cell skin cancer. From there, she was referred to a surgeon who performed a "scrape and burn" to be rid of it. She said this was no big deal. The good news: the cancer was "in situ" and treatment is OVER. She does have to keep a close eye on her skin because if you've had one skin cancer there's a good chance you could get another.

Soooo.....if your dad's lesion is not healing, he needs to have it evaluated. Early detection is key to a "cure."

Good luck,

Margie

Dear My Friend,
I Am 14 i am worried about my mom for some of the same reasons... but cancer runs in my family. I would not be worried about it enless your dad is, if he is worried then you need to get him to a doctor...tell somone whats going on see if they can help.

Good Luck,
