What should we expect now? NSLC with liver metastasis

Hi! My name is Mandy and I live in Greece. I don't know who to thank about this wonderful site, it is really helpfull.
My mother, who is 64 years old has been diagnosed with non-small lung cancer one month ago (they say she has a 2cm tumor which is at a place inoperable).
She also has a bone metastasis (at the forehead), secondary liver cancer (with multiple small tumors - the bigger one is 3cm) and swelled glands and lymph nodes.
She's under chemotherapy right now and seems to be doing fine. She has no bad symptoms till now. Some coughing (she used to smoke 3 packets of cigarettes per day, for more than 20 years), tiredness and abdomen swelling from time to time.
She has accepted the fact that her disease is not curable. The only thing that scares her is the pain that might come or other awful symptoms she has heard around.
What shoud she expect from now on? Has anyone witnessed before a similar case? Doctors say that she has a life expectancy of 8 -12 months, but they say nothing about symptoms, etc.
