Hello,

First, please let me say that this is a wonderful community you have here...Thank you Leo for making this forum and allowing everybody share their experiences and help each other!

My Dad, 60, was recently diagosed with lung cancer and bone cancer. I do not have all the details yet as more tests are requred. From what we understand so far, the cancer has not been found in any other major organs. They may be the effects of Agent Orange exposure though relation to smoking is quite possible too. He had smoked many years ago but smoke-free for the past 20-25 years. In any case, we are gathering as much information as possible in order to try and find the best doctors, treatment options, and cancer centers/hospitals. He is currently scheduled to start with a biopsy at the Univeristy of Michigan Cancer Center in a couple weeks. My question to the community here is where can we find the best doctors and cancer centers? By the way, we do live in MI but will travel where we need to go..

When we find out more about the cancer I would like to ask you all for comments regarding various treatments (perhaps even Cryotherapy).

Thank you so much!!

kev,

I ran across this one on the web a couple months ago.

http://www.cancernet.com/

I can't vouch for any part of it because I have never gone there or contacted them.

At least "on paper" this has got to be one of the best if not the best that I have seen.

The prognosis of late stage NSCLC or SCLC is extremely poor, especially when sticking to conventional therapy alone. This place offers hope.

The head doctor owns a US patent on one of his treatments.

Hope this helps.
