She has squamous cell lung cancer.

She has the first rib broken (from cancer)

The cancer has gone into the bone behind the lung (T5 R Rib)

She is in Stage IV.

Her treatment plan is:

Pain management

Radiation Therapy

Chemotherapy

My father will not give out any other info at this point.

Can anyone give me a possible time frame of life expectancy please.

i am pretty sure it is not very long, but would like some idea so i can "prep' myself.

Thanks,
Anne

Anne,

Sorry to hear about your mother. Here's what I can say about your mother's disease: Between 15 and 35 out of every 100 people (15 - 35%) treated for stage 4 lung cancer will be alive a year later. It is impossible to tell whether she will do well or not, since tumors are so diverse in terms of behavior.

I'll be here if you need.

best regards,
Leo
