Hello. My dads lymphoma was gone for about 7 months. He felt a lump in his groin area. They checked it and said that the lymphoma is back, so now here we go again. The Dr. said he could try a new research drug called Veldane......i think i spelled it right. Its supposed to let him keep his hair and not have nausea, which is a heck of alot better than the chemo, or so it seems. He hasnt started the treatment yet, so i was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this. Feels like we are going into this with blinders on, so any info will be helpful. The Dr. also said that the lymphoma never really goes away, just doesnt act up so much, which is when he is in remission. How come? how does it just flair up when it wants to and go away when its ready to leave? Thanks for listening.

Perhaps you mean velcade? This drug has been showing promise in several types of lymphoma-- you can look it up at www.lymphomation.org A friend with mantle cell had a very positive response to it-- I believe they first looked at in Mantle cell but are now exploring its effectiveness in other forms of lymphoma.
