I was browsing the web for information on my type of brain tumor, as I'm sure most people here would, mine being oligodendroglioma. I noticed this information on two web sites. It sounds like a miracle cure that nobody is in any hurry to bring to people who have very little hope anyway. Is this a case of, Too Good To Be True?

So, since this is dated 2001, what have they been doing on this? I don't think I've seen anything recent that discusses it.

If this is a viable treatment, I'm wondering when it will be ready for testing on consenting adults. It apparently kills brain tumors in weeks or days.

Greg,

Unfortunately any therapy where a potentially lethal virus is modified and injected into humans will take a lot of time to be approved. The virus can cause a lot of problems both immediatelly and long-term. So scientists will have to have a lot of evidence in animals that this is a safe therapy. But it is encouraging.

regards,
Leo

[sarcasm]Yeah, it could be dangerous. You could kill someone a few years after the brain tumor would have killed them.[/sarcasm]

On the other hand, what I'm facing is probably better than Polio.
