My mom is only 54 years old 5 years ago they gave her 4-6 months to live She was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer stage IV in both lungs. Since then they have been treating her with chemo, pills, etc. Any how they did her normal blood testing and they said her level was 148 which means that her cancer had spread. We found out it has spread to the bone. She recently started spitting up blood and having shortness of breath. What does 148 mean what are they testing for exactly ? Is that high ? How long can I expect her to live once it has spread to the bone ?

Mallen,
We don't know the answers to your questions. I do know that your mom is very sick. Spend as much time with her as you can. How old are you and are you able to talk with your mom about her disease? Did I understand your correctly when you said 5 years ago they gave her 4-5 months to live? If you have time let us know how things are going.
