You can get a free subscription to CURE magazine if you are a cancer patient (survivor) or care giver. It comes out 4 times a year it is NOT a gloom and doom magazine. It tells all the progress being made and each issue has a type of cancer that is the focus, but all types of cancer are talked about in each magazine. I think the BC one was either Spring of 2004 or Winter of 2003. Again, it will discuss BC in every issue, just may not be the main topic and updates on trials etc. http://www.curetoday.com/freesubscriptions/

Hi Nancy,
I just wanted to say how great this magazine is. I have been a subscriber since my dx in april 2003. I also remember the breast cancer issue that you are refering to. I think that anybody that wants to check out that issue may find it online in the back issues. This bc issue was full of really good information, especially if you were newly dx like I was at the time I discovered this magazine. I always look forward to getting the new issue in the mail, and you are right, its not a gloom and doom magazine. Its a highly informative magazine with all the newest and upcoming treatments and detections that are available and will be available.
Anyway, I highly recomend checking this out like Nancy suggested.
I hope you all have a great New Year!

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for informing everyone. You are right-on about this magazine. I believe that the last issue had a very informative article regarding hormonal treatment for breast cancer. It's a good way to keep up on the latest and greatest in treatments and also, what's to come in the future.
Talk to you soon!
Happy New Year!
Hugs,
Margie |

I agree with everyone here about this magazine...it is the BEST. I am of the belief that we need to know all the info we can just in case we need it . I wish I had known more about breast cancer so I could have known the right questions to ask my doctors. I also realize that until you have it or some other terrible disease, you don't know what to ask. I think it is such a scary thing, that we put it out of our minds as long as life is going along ok.
I didn't mean to go on and on...really just wanted to comment on the CURE magazine.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!!!!!! |

I get CURE and love it. Its articles also are available on-line. I often refer people to them. Lots of good information. Lauri _________________ Diagnosed 4/11/1996
