Do you live in Southern California and want to learn more about melanoma and skin cancer?
If so, you are invited to attend an all-day melanoma educational symposium on Saturday, August 5 at the The Westin, South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa (Orange County), California. (The hotel is near the John Wayne Airport.) The program is for melanoma patients and family members and is sponsored by the Melanoma Research Foundation and The Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, UCI Medical Center.
There will be many interesting talks and presentations on topics including: "Detection of Melanoma," "Overview of the Surgical Treatment of Melanoma and Sentinel Lymph Nodes," "Therapies for Melanoma," "Prevention of Melanoma," "Uses of Biochemotherapy," "Significant Clinical Trials."
The list of presenters include Dr. Meehard Herlyn (U Penn SOM), Dr. Jan Ellen Smith (UCSF), Dr. Vern Sondak (Moffitt Cancer Center), Dr. John Kirkwood (U Pitt Cancer Institute), Dr. Frank Meyskens (The Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCIMC), Dr. Sewa Legha (Baylor COM), Dr. John Fruehauf (The Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCIMC), etc.
Registration will begin at approximately 8:45 AM and the first morning presentation will begin at 9:30 AM. Lunch will be available at 12:15 PM. The program will end at approximately 4:20 PM.
