A family member has breast cancer that has spread to the lungs.

How does the prospects compare to "normal" lung cancer?

I know it was hormonal, and it was hoped it could be kept in check without chemo, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Will it still have better prospects? Perhaps worse because you might also have other spreading?

I would ask the people in the breast cancer forum. Breast cancer in the lungs will still behave like breast cancer, but it is considered stage4 breast cancer, which is not the best prognosis in the world. Still, depending on the ER/PR status of the tumor, chemo could be an option.

I don't know that much about metastatic breast cancer. I wish I could offer more advice.

Came across this by chance - Mets in the lungs are serious but often respond to treatment. It's a case of finding the right cocktail. If you contact bcmets.org, you will find lots of people who have treatment for this.
