Hi!!
I am 22 years old, red hair, fair skin and freckles.
Just recently I noticed a mole on my upper left arm, that I have had for about a year, has turned black. This mole is raised and perfectly round and a little red around it. It is about 1/4 in. around and turned from brown to black overnite. Never seen anything like it before. Skin cancer runs in my family on both parents sides. Should I be concearned and what should I do Question

Jill....

With your hair color, skin color, and predisposition to skin cancer from a genetic standpoint, the first and best thing you can do is have it looked at by a dermatologist -- who may and will probably biopsy it to see what that thing is. Forget a GP or anyone else that wants to look at this thing -- head straight for the dermatologist!
