The other day I went to put a half empty can of beans in the fridge. My friend quickly stopped me, saying "you can't do that, it can give you cancer." I laughed at her, but she was completely serious, although could give no explanation as to why.

I have never heard nor can see any reason why this could be the case. Has anyone else heard of this?

Never heard of anything like this. However, I will say that I would not put an opened can into a fridge. I would move the contents into a box with a lid. The contents of open cans can become contaminated and are a source of food poisoning.

Is your fridge covered with asbestos?

No?

Figured. So your beans cannot get teh cancer.
