Hi all,
I have just found this forum, after much research on gliomas and specifically oligodendromas on the internet.
My wife was diagnosed just before Christmas last year, aged 38 with 2 kids, and underwent surgery soon after in Sydney.
The surgery was anything but routine, and she was lucky to survive the op due to the severe comlications.
Now 4 months later, she is slowly re-habilitating but unfortunately does have some rather difficult to deal with frontal lobe deficits.
I don't what to expect here and how long and how much can one expect to improve following brain surgery.
From what I have read about the tumour, and what the Neurosurgeon has said, it is not as bad as some other gliomas, but cure rate is still low even with a full resection.
I will keep my first post brief, as to just introduce myself etc.
I am glad I have found such a resourceful forum.

Derek, I am so sorry to hear about your wife's post op problems. I am a survivor on a grade 2 glioma in 1992 treated with chemo and a recurrence in the same location of the cancer at a grade 3 surgical removed in Nov 2005 followed by 3 months of radiation therapy. I will keep you and your wife in my prayers. _________________ Jim
