| For sores in the mouth, it might be worth trying a solution of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) - 1 teaspoon in a cup of warm/tepid water - which you swill round in the mouth. It has the merit that it cannot harm you if you wallow it. |

lakelover,
Yes, a very common problem for those undergoing radiation treatment of the head area. I like Vee's idea of baking soda. Some people use magic mouthwash or other similar mixes of liquid lidocaine, benadryl, and bicarbonate fluid. Good hygiene always help to prevent an oral infection. Good luck and let us know what works for you, or what didnt' work as well. _________________ RLee, MD

| I found cuprident mouth foam to be very helpful for mouth sores. I started with their toothpaste before treatment began and switched to the mouth foam when radiation began. You can read about it here http://www.cuprident.com/oncol.php |

Hi, I've gotten mouth soars but from chemo not radiation, so I bought L-Glutamine powder and mixed it with water and swirreld it around where the soars were. It worked great, I think if you put alot more Glutamine than water it works even better, now I just put straight Glutamine. It helps me, hope it can help you too _________________ x_x 0_x x_0 ^_^ -_+ |
