Help I'm scared. I had a Squamous cell radiated from my scalp a year ago. I was just diagnosed with one <1.5CM lump as well as several smaller ones in the lymph nodes at the back of my neck. I can't get to the specialists until Monday and I am having anxiety attacks. Can someone give me some positive feedback on some questions I have?

How common is it for Squamous cell to migrate to other parts of the body beyond the neck lymph nodes? What are the treatments options? Is Cetuximab effective for this sort of cancer? What are the cure rates for cases like this?

help808,
Squamous cell cancer is common among people with head and neck cancer. You will need to work with your ENT doctor to do proper staging of your cancer. Advanced staged H&N cancer is often treated with radiation and chemotherapy. Some centers do concurrent XRT and chemo. Even locally advanced H&N cancer can be cured. Cetuximab has been studied and shown to be beneficial. Consider a 2nd opinion at a major medical center. Good luck.
