Hi all,
I was just curious if there has been any proven statistical correlation between certain occupations, and the incidence of brain cancers (ie especially gliomas).

Hi Derek, I know little about this God awful disease. Having done alot of research on the net I can't say I have read anything to substantiate this. Perhaps one of the longer standing members of the forum can help u more with this query. Maybe Jim....he seems to be very knowledgeable with his postings. Although I believe he's quite unwell at the mo. How is your wife going? Best wishes....Angie.

Hi Derek and Angie,

Thank you Angie... both for your kind words and concern about my current health. Today, I am feeling ok... still worried about my black-out... but OK.

Back on track with Derick's question... I am not familiar with any link between specific occupations and brain cancer. There is ample history of links between occupation and other forms of cancer. I suggest contacting a major research center and asking them if they know of any studies currently underway. Several years ago, I know that MD Anderson with doing a family to brain cancer link study. I do not know what results they found.

Good luck, Derick. If you find any information, please post it for all of us to read. Posts with links to the actual research are better than just quotes.
