There have been many developments since I last posted on these forums. I've been blogging here and it has helped with friends and family http://karenscancer.blogspot.com

I did have a question though, more to compare notes than anything else: When Karen was first diagnosed we were told her CEA was around 237. A few weeks later when we first started chemo it was in the low 600s. Today we got the results of the blood test after the first 2 week treatment of 5FU and it had dropped a hundred points to 511.

My question is is this a normal drop? Should we expect to see more of a drop than this from chemo or is this about average? I actually [i]feel[/i] like this might be above average as I wasn't expecting the chemo to have that much of an effect on CEA. I figured that was more of a surgery thing.

I know every case is different but if anyone could chime in with their experiences I'd appreciate it.
