hi, i'm new here.
i have a question regarding the tumor markers...
I've read some articles about the cancer antigens...
there are CA 125, CA 19-9 and so on...
anyone knows what do the numbers eg. 125 or 19-9 stand for?

Hi Helen and welcome to the forum. Do not feel ashamed EVER for asking questions. I do not know if the numbers have any significance other than to identify different antigens. I am sure scientists have some systematic way to name antigens. However, I do not know that system.

Could I ask you if you have ovarian cancer or what your interest in this subject is?
