Hello all, unfortunately this is my first post. For about 3 months my father was complaining about stomach pains. He would have nausea and would vomit a little bit of water. Finally I made the appointment for him to see a Dr. The Dr determined that he was bleeding internally (evidence in his stool) and that he needs to go the emergency room to get blood. So off we went.

They had to give him 3 pints total. They originally said he had an ulcer, but wanted to verify it with endoscopy (putting a tube down his throat and into his stomach) Then they took a biopsy and told us that it was cancer and he has a large tumor on his stomach causing the bleeding. They performed a cat scan and there didn't seem to be any other tumors so they performed a partial gasterchomy (sp?) They basically removed 70% of his stomach and some affected nearby lympnodes. The surgeon then said that there is still some cancer cells that he couldn't remove. His oncologist seems rather morbid and says that this is a pretty bad case and wants him to start chemo in a month. Currently he's still recovering from the operation as it was performed 3-4 days ago.

Anyone have any suggestions based on real world experience? Should I take my father in for a second opinion? I live in NJ, about 45 min from NYC.

Also does anyone have any suggestions for alternative healing methods? I hear somethings about Celsium?? I don't know, I'm confused, scared and just plain sad but I'm trying my best to maintain a postive attitude around my father.
