I feel like I am going crazy. I am a 28 year old female and for the past year or 2 I have been having chest pain, sore neck and fatigue. Around the same time I have found an atypical mole on my leg and a pea sized lymph node in my neck below my ear lobe behind my jaw. The lymph node and mole had gotten larger, but not significantly in the past year and a half. About a year ago I also had high blood pressure and tachycardia. The blood pressure is now borderline and the resting heart rate is 90bpm. Also in the past year I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and then had to have my gall bladder removed as I was having pain from gall stones. I seem to be getting a new symptom now. I have always been a person that was always cold and cold to the touch, but now I seem like one minute I am freezing and need a sweater and then the next minute I am hot and need to take my sweater off. I seem to go through these episodes and then I will just stay cold as I normally am. I used to have night sweats where I would totally soak the bed, but that symptom has gone away. Right now the chest pain which is intermittent and the fatigue is the most debilitating. When I have the chest pain it makes me even more tired. It's like it drains me of any energy I have left in me.

Just recently I had the mole removed by a dermatologist and he is sending me for a CT scan for the lymph node. If there was anything serious would a CT scan pick it up as I already had a chest x-ray and it showed nothing.

Hi aimee, I am very sorry to hear about your health concerns. It is so hard to wait for tests and then test results. I am glad that you have already seen a doctor. I do not know if all of your symptoms are related to the same cause. They might be, I just do not know. Keep working with your medical team. Be sure you tell them about all of your symptoms. You never know... the smallest detail might make a big difference.

A CT scan is indeed better than a normal chest x-ray. The medical team will be able to visualize that lump in greater detail than with a normal x-ray. It is an HD vs black-and-white TV... or maybe even greater.

Good luck with your CT. Come back and let us know what they find.

Hi Jim,

The CT scan came back normal and the mole came back as a spitz tumor which is bengin. I now have a more serious health issue. In the past couple months I have had an ear infection which is resistant to any antibiotics. I am on my 4th round of different types of antibiotics and it is like taking sugar pills. My GP has thrown up his hands and is saying wait to see the ENT (I have been waiting for 6 months). He referred me because of the enlarged lymph node. My original lymph node has gotten bigger and I can also feel the other lymph nodes on that same chain now. They are not as big as the orignal lymph node. I had been having night sweats months ago, but thought nothing more of it because it was summer. I am having them on and off now, but it's the fatigue that is bothering me the most. I work from home a lot and I take frequent naps during the day because I am so tired. I see an ENT Jan. 17th, so I will have to update once he has a look at my ear and the lymph node.

Amiee
