There are no tumor markers that are completely accurate. There are some for different types of cancer, that can be reliable or might not be, depending on the person. Mine did them for the 1st 4 years after treatment but listened to any symptoms regardless of what the tumor markers said. There is one that covers a wide variety of cancers, but again, like the others, you can have cancer and they come back normal or not have cancer and they come back elevated. Some oncos don't even do tumor markers for that reason. _________________ Nancy

My English is not very well, sorry:) Thank for ur advice(Nancy and brainman),i know biopsy diagnose is best method for cancer, but i want to reserch a product for high-risk people, then ,if he or she 's tumor marker exceed normal range,he can examine further test(image or biopsy).also u can judge pathological part(organic) by tumor marker.so i want to collect information which tumor marker use in clinic.
for example ,we see PSA and f-PSA is abnormal.u said his prostate has problem, then he can get futher test and therapy. |

What we're trying to say is a tumor marker test is NOT a test you would do to determine if someone needs a biopsy. People with cancer can have normal tumor markers and those without cancer can have high tumor markers. The only test that will tell anyone if they have cancer, is to have the tumor biopsied. _________________ Nancy
