In order to make these forums more informative, when you ask something about Hodkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphomas, please include the following in your post:
- Age
- Age of diagnosis or time since diagnosis
- Lactate dehydrogenase level (a blood test)
- Performance status
- Clinical stage
- Sites of metastatic growths
- Treatments already received
This will help us make the questions a lot easier to answer !

| I really think it might help if you'd put those things in layman's terms. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's at 16 and all I know was it was in my chest and liver and was extremely painful, that only matches 2 or so of your criteria. |

face___, I am sorry that the questions are unclear:
Age = how old are you?
Age of diagnosis or time since diagnosis = how old where you when diagnosed or how long ago where you diagnosed?
Lactate dehydrogenase level (a blood test) = this is a blood test that your doctor would have done. Ask him for the results and what the results mean about your cancer.
Performance status = how are you doing otherwise? Healthy? Sick?
Clinical diagnosis and stage = Hodgkin's or Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma? The stage of the cancer is a measure of how much it has spread.... usually a number between 1 and 4. Again, ask your doctor for this information.
Sites of metastatic growths = has it spread to other areas in your body or is it relatively localized in one area? If it has spread, where has it spread to?
Treatments already received = have you already received any form of treatments (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy)? If you have or are getting chemotherapy, what drugs are they giving you?
I glean from your post that you are a 16 year older with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in otherwise relatively good health. It has spread to your chest and liver (I am not totally clear about this one). You have not received any treatments so far.
I hope this helps you understand the questions better. I will reply to your story in your topic . _________________ Jim

May I add that it would be a lot easier to respond to posts with descriptive subjects. Subjects such as "Help!" or "need advice" don't tell the readers if they can indeed help or give advice, no matter how much they want to. _________________ 61 y.o M, Diffuse large B cell NHL, stage 3.
