My 9 yr old son's right lymph node is very swollen (dr measured it as being 2" x 3") and he has an enlarged axillary node (1.5-2cm or greater). His primary care dr saw him last night and after a thorough exam, said it showed no sign of infection, and referred us to an ENT for an immediate biopsy. He said he didn't want to scare me, but that it could be lymphoma. He seemed very concerned. Obviously we are terrified and trying not to panic or think too far ahead. He has an appt with a pediatric ENT tomorrow morning, but in the meantime....I am desperate for information. From the signs and symptoms, what other things could this possibly be? It was 8 days ago that he said that his neck was a little "sore" and his temp then was 99.5 - has been normal temp since. It didn't seem to bother him that much. About five days ago it started to swell much larger and become easily noticeable. It doesn't seem to be causing him any pain now.

Ideas? Advice? I just need some more information to understand all of this because not knowing anything is driving me crazy. Thank you in advance.
